What I would do is learn the present tense conjugation. It's a bit tough, but if you hack it, you'll be able to make sentences, and it'll go easier from that point.

Well you could do worse than to buy some books and tapes in/on Russian.
Forget what you have learnt and start from the beginning. If you find you are enjoying what you are learning then find a class or tutor willing to help you learn more.
There are plenty of links on the net that can help you find the all things Russian via google.
on-line translator engines are very useful too, at least i think so. If you want some links let me know, ok?

Now she wants me to learn Russian. I had started to learn it when I was five or six but hey, I'm American, I'm LAZY!!!. I didn't finish it so here I am. Tah Dah.

Why were you learning it when you were five or six? Are your parents Russian? Anyhow if you want to learn it, you will simply have to put a lot of effort into it. There is no other way to do that. Get a book(Jas' stands by the Penguin Russian courses as the true Word of God ), listen to some Russian radio, etc., etc. , etc.

    I learned because...

... My parents wanted me to learn a language that most people don't know fluently.

Are your parents polyglots or people like us, who basically are obsessed with languages not learned that often? That's a pretty strange demand of a 5-year old...but a good one, if I ever saw one!
