Maybe some do, but I've never hear it among friends. Friends and bodies tend to call each other by nothing but name.

Volk, why you didn't mention about фигня?
Gib immer 100% bei der Arbeit: 12% am Montag, 23% am Dienstag, 40% am Mittwoch, 20% am Donnerstag, 5% am Freitag ...

Except that its content is vulgar there are words that even people from 100 years before in Russia don't know.it goes way way way back. And Russians never use words such: АБСТУЛЗАДОМБЕЙ or АЙОВЩИНА.
So i recommend you find some other slang websites because these ones are just useless and won't help you learn modern slang.

oh and I like '..в курсе' meaning to know, although I don't know if that's really 'slang', is it?

Well, it's нифига себе to begin with not не фига себе.As for it's meaning it's kind of like: you don't say!, duh!.
    I'll give you some examples:

этот фильм интереснее чем другой = This film is more interesting than the other one
нифига себе!= you dont' say!,really!?,duh (in a sarcastic meaning). Also similar to ничего себе.

    As for в курсе:

Im aware of the fact that she didn't tell him that.

Держать кого-нибудь в курсе = to keep somebody informed (about something).
e.g. Держи меня в курсе = keep me informed

Is there a difference between the two, then?

I thought that it simply means: Неплохо, in a positive meaning, just like in the example given by BETEP. According to what VOLK says, it has a sarcastic meaning, which I didn't know about. Can sb explain?

    Re:

    Hm,no. i don't think there's a difference.
It's a mixture of sarcasm and unconcern.Actually there's not an actual word to describe it exactly but that's just about it.
    Some other u might see:

    фиг тебе!

In my experience it mostly expresses surprise. A touch of sarcasm is possible but not necessary. It's the same as "ничего себе!". It means something like "I never thought it could be that way."
    Examples:
-Ни фига себе!(=I never thought he could do that)

(=I couldn't imagine that it is so expensive)
"Happy new year, happy new year
May we all have a vision now and then
Of a world where every neighbour is a friend"
