Do you mean that they have to fast twice, or that they only celebrate once?
Orthodox must to have 40 fast days before Christmas. So, it is inpossible to celebrate twice in winter.
Nowadays the main problem is New Year - I usually celebrate it vety much, and it is noot good to drink vodka and to eat meat before 7 Jan.
