We don't call Serials in English.
Either they are Soap Operas, or Sitcoms, etc.
I've heard TS (Tele? Series). And doesn't Sitcom suit only comedy series? Because it's situation comedy, isn't it?Quote:

Step by Step? I know this show. I know it is a pretty old serie with Susan Sommers. It used to be shown in Israel too, was pretty popular among the kids.
Do you mean that one? or there's a different "Step by Step"?
Yes, i have ment this one. There was one man, i think he was called COUDY - it was the best protagonist. What was his most famous replic in English? In Slovakia was this soap opera played only with czech dubbing, and the replic sounded alike: "ČQuote:

sorry for interrupting, but is MASH about war in Korea? It's a bit old series I think, isn't it?
You are right, Leof, like you always are  How do you does it? :PQuote:

yes it was a while ago. The surgers were complete....I remember that I remember that word...complete bonkers. :D
Leof, what does it mean "bonkers" ? Try to explain it in (i do not care, e.g.) Russian, Polish, Slovakian, Czech and maybe in English too. :)Quote:

Ok. The doctors and others in MASH behave like they have only one aim - how to make their duty full of fun and cheer theirselves up! They act like bonkers. The tall surger is a complete one.
Leof and I are bonkers, that's my explanation. At least, we've been called so once.Quote:

A "serial" is a set of programs that has a continuing story. Like the 'Lone Ranger' and 'Buck Rodgers' shorts that were popular at movie houses in the 1930's 1940's. Every episode would end with a problem or "cliff-hanger" that would be resolved the following week.
A "sitcom" is a stand alone story. A group of wakky/zany characters gets into a problem and resolves the issue in the space of 1/2 hour (minus the commercials)
"soap - operas" are a dramatic, daily serial that had a target audience of housewives; the sponsors were largely household products companies. They have been proven to drive male lab rats insane and female lab rats incomprehensable to the male rats...
And a "serial killer" is the reality TV
Hehe. You're just now getting Step by Step in Slovakia? That show is old school -- like early 90s. And, just FYI, I farking hated that show. I'm sorry to threadcrap, but you did ask about it. I certainly hope it's not shown in Russia, because it it is, they'll launch their nukes in retaliation for that piece of crap.
There are SO many other quality shows -- they even have 24 in Russia now. Who wouldn't want to watch Jack Bauer torturing someone in Russian?
No, in Slovakia we are some steps confront monkeys. I guess.
