    Researching Russian Tsar

I am trying to find out which Russian Tsar entered into Israel in the past. All I know so far is that the Pagrums of the Russian Tsars entered into Israel in the past. I have not been able to find out anything else so far and I thought maybe someone on this site might be able to help me and or direct me to where I can find out more about this event. Thank you.

    I don't understand your question...

    1: What is a Pagrum?
2: Isreal (the country/state) was created in 1948, the last Russian Tsar was killed in 1918
3: Most Russian tsars never traveled abroad

Thank you for answering. Pagrums sounds like a family name, but I am not sure. At the end of one of the Against All Odds DVDs the commentator stated that the Pagrums of the Russian Tsars entered into Israel. Apparently the commentator said Israel so the listener would know where this happened, but it sounds like it happened before Israel became a nation. If you have any thoughts let me know. Thank you.

After a little research, I believe you meant Pogrom! And it is not a surname, but a riot against a particular group, like the jews.

Here is a wiki entry that you might find interesting:

I am certain that you solved the mystery. Thank you very much for your help. Do you know of any time in either Russian or USSR history that either of these entered into Israel while fighting against another nation or group of nations? Thanks.

Well before Israel was created, and before the British Mandate of Palestine, Palestine was part of the Ottoman (Turkish) Empire. Russia had a war with Turkey, so Russian army could have been fighting there.

But the Tsar wouldn't have gone there.

As for this "The pagrums of the Tsar entered into Israel", you have obviously misunderstood.

Probably it was talking about how during/after the pogroms (riots and mass violence/killings against Jews in parts of the Russian Empire, like Ukraine) a number of Jews left the Russian Empire to go and live in Palestine.

Some 30,000 Jews from the Russian Empire went to Palestine (then part of the Ottoman Empire) between 1880 and 1900.

Following the outbreak of the pogroms around a further 40,000 Russian Jews emigrated to Palestine.

Tel-Aviv, Israel's biggest city, was founded by these Russian Jews.

Thank you both for helping me with this search. It is possible that what I am trying to find could have happened before Israel was re-established. Do you know of any resources where I could find out if Russia entered into Israel against the Ottoman Empire. Thank you.

There isn't any. As far as I know, Russian army has never been to Palestine or Israel (not even close). The war with the Ottoman Empire took its course in Crimea, the Balkans and there were some navy battles in the Black Sea.
Send me a PM if you need me.

This helps since elimination reveals other things. I am looking for a war between two kingdoms, a southern kingdom and a northern kingdom in which the kingdom of the north entered into the land of Israel. Thanks.

The United Kingdom fought against the Ottoman Empire in Palestine in World War I.

After that Britain ruled the territory known as the British Mandate of Palestine, which is today's Israel and Jordan. Anyway, the Brits gave everything to the east of the river Jordan (that was most of the land, and comprises modern day Jordan) to the Arabs. Everything west of the river (the territory of modern day Israel) was to be divided 50-50 between the Jews and Arabs, with Jerusalem being a multinational enclave, shared between the two sides. The Jews accepted, the arabs rejected, then the British Mandate of Palestine expired in 1948, and the Brits basically gave up control and left despite there not being an agreement between the Jews and Arabs, the Zionists declared the state of Israel, the Arab countries surrounding Israel invaded.

    Researching Russian Tsar

Thank you for your help. The scenario you described fits the criteria, that is they stayed in Israel for a short time with destruction in their hand. This broadens my concept of the king of the north. It sounds like the king of the north and the south changed hands and kingdoms over the years. That is at one time England was the king of the north, then the USSR. Russia will become the king of the north. The south probably includes those nations surrounding Israel and those nations connected with these nations, and over the years the king of the south changed hands as well. One of the other scenarios I am looking for is when the daughter of the king of the south, who ever the king was at this particular time married someone in the ruling circle of the king of the north but shortly thereafter lost her power. If anyone has any thoughts as to who this might have been I would to happy to hear what you have to say. Thanks for your help.
