If we consider European part of Russia then I don't think so. I can't estimate China's influence on Far East since I don't live there, but I'm pretty sure it's not a big deal.
Of course! BBK home videos are almost everywhere. :)Quote:

Chinese are actually importing dirt-cheap vodka into Russia now.
Supposedly in the Far East there is a rapidly growing Chinese population -- both legal and illegal (I think Chita, Amurskii, and Primorskii primarily?). I don't know if anybody TRULY knows what it is -- I've heard both that nationalists inflate it dramatically to scare people with an "invasion" of foreigners and that the government doesn't really know how big it is. Who really knows? But it is an issue in the rest of Russia, too. There was some controversy when the St. Petersburg governor announced plans for the creation of a "China town" section of SPb. And as for a relationship with the Chinese government, google "Shanghai Cooperation Organization."

Pelmen' came from Udmurtian word pelnyan' (pel - a ear, nyan' - bread).
Well, may be udmurtians invented pelmeny, but who invented udmurtians? 8)
I say keep it up - there are some damn fine chinese restaurants in Russia.
tdk
I was rather disappointed when i went to Kazan and saw only a brazen Japanese restaurant. Talk about letting the side down...:( Still, it also means there's a viable market...
In Kazan you can drink mare's milk and eat rice-krispie treat things that I forget the name of...Quote:
