This book presents many letters between Anton Chekov and his wife Olga Knipper. Most of the letters are from Olga. I understand that there is still some controversy in Russia over Olga, many people thinking that she used him to further her career. This book will put that notion to rest. She loved him deeply during what was a difficult relationship, him being sick and she usually being in some other city. While the letters can get tedious, skimming them provides a nice look at their lives.
