"Russian for Beginners" by Charles Duff... its slow and easy and is for the absolute beginner. It offers a step-by-step approach. GET THIS BOOK.

I have "Russian for Beginners" by Duff also. I'm only about 30 pages into it and it seems pretty good. I have a couple other beginner's Russian books too but they blow compared to Duff's. I want to get the New Penguin Course book too but it's hard to find.

The New Peguin russian Course (doesnt have CD's or Tapes but explains everything clearly and easily.. if you get this one try to get a CD from another course)... or the Living Language Russian Course...
