What would my name be in diminutive form?

    My name is Parker..
Would I be called "Parochka" (That means 'couple'.. so that'd be strange..) or "Pasha" or.. what?

I'm new here by the way!

Re: What would my name be in diminutive form?

    Hi Parker!
For me all the variants sound awful.

There is a boy in the series "Desperate Housewives" who is called Parker. And I never heard anybody there calling him not Паркер. Parker is a foreign name, and such names often don't have diminutive forms in Russian. Of course, when e.g. emmigrants' children are named so, parents invent some forms, but I wouldn't say all they would do it in the same way. Паша is the form of another name, Павел, e.g. апостол Павел = the Apostle Paul. The only variant that occurs to me is Паркерчик but it also doesn't sound good. I would recommend you to introduce yourself as Паркер. If your Russian friends you communicate with in real life (or your girlfriend, if you have a Russian girlfriend)) will invent the short form on their own initiative it's ok. If not then your name is perfect and there is no need to change a letter in it. ))

Re: What would my name be in diminutive form?

Is Parker your name or your surname? A diminutive can be formed from your first name only.

And if it's your first name I can't think of any way this name can be changed. You can call yourself Парк (Park), but this word means the same in Russian as it does in English, so it would be ridiculous.

    And welcome, by the way.

    Паркеруша.
But it is not short, so Паря is interesting also.
