Regarding Ukrainian surname endings, what does -enko, -ko, -uk, -ych mean?
Are you sure that these endings mean something more than «Ukrainian surname endings»?
"-ko, -uk" now neans nothing but surname endings. Usually surnames was forming by attaching those endings (actually in Ukrainian -uk- and -k- are suffixes and -o is ending) to the name or any kind of definition of the family founder.Originally Posted by thelaxu

1) It is not specifically Ukrainian, it is more typical for all kinds of Jugoslavians, also for Belorussians and Poles.
2) It is the way to form patronymics.
"Россия для русских" - это неправильно. Остальные-то чем лучше?
