Thread: Are these names Russian?

Hello. I was wondering if these two names are Russian, Belarussian, Polish.. or whatever.

Karpik - My grandmother's old family name. She was born in eastern Poland, which is now Belarus.

Bandik - My grandmother's family name changed to this after she married my grandfather.

Yea, I was thinking that too. My mother mentioned once that my greatgrandfather could of come from the Ukraine.

You don't know where your grandparents are from? Actually I don't know where my own grandparents are from, they are all dead except for one and I never met her. I assume she is from Ukraine like me and my mama.

Sorry, I meant to say great grandfather. My grandfather was born in New Jersey. I know his mother came from Krakow, Poland, but I don't know where his father came from.
