    Taylor

After consideration, I am wondering if my name would be readable by Russian people, and therefore if I were to move to Russia if I would need to change it... My name is Taylor Hardy. I would imagine that the name Taylor would be difficult to pronounce, and recently, i had a substitute teacher from Russia who could not pronounce it. I do not know, however if it was because of the grammer or the sounds.

    Taylor Hardy
Тейлор Харди (the first consonant of the name is hard)
This is the correct translation of your name into Russian and it's very easy to pronounce for native speakers of Russian. I don't see any problem.

ok, good, maybe it was just because he had a hard time figuring out the grammar to it thanks

one thing though is that it is pronounced with the or not as in oar, but er, would that just be Р at the end? i understand that it will not translate perfectly

Your first name is not difficult to pronounce, quite the opposite, but I have a question about your surname - is it perhaps of French origin? In this case it would sound as Арди (the stress is on и).

unfortunately, i know nothing of my father's heritage because he never knew his dad due to divorce. Because the divorce was due to crime and such, it seems to be off limits to ask of that part of the family tree

on a coat of arms project i did in middle school i remember it said that the name could have originated in France, and my father's side could fit some descriptions of French, so it is possible.

truth be told i don't know much about my heritage at all. My family Americanized and left everything behind.

In this case it would be spelled totally different. With no "H", and it would be anything but NOT "-dy" at the end.
In Russian, all nationalities and their corresponding languages start with a lower-case letter.

Yes, I think Hardy is a very common British name (not French). Heard it before many times...

Don't get me wrong, but I KNEW this surname

But then, Anthony Hardy was a Londoner who moved to Cognac. I didn't know this until now.
