    please suggest a russian name (musculine)

    we are from india. but have a special place for russia in our hearts. we have decided to give a russian name for our nephew...

    we have been searching for russian names on the net..but that is too confusing...i just want few suggestions from the forum members...


    kindly post one russian name (musculine/male) you like, preferably with its meaning. more than one posts are welcome

    Mishka. It is a dimunitive of Mikhail which means the Lord is God. Depending on how you view the Universe, that could mean practically anything. However, it was probably given at face value. Mishka/Mikhail I am both very fond of.

    I think it is great that you are choosing a russian name. I am very fond of this action.

    Вячеслав. Means "big renown".

    Also, it's the name of a very good person I studied in school with many years ago. Name your nephyew in honour of him.

    I think it'd be much better to use only in Russian. For no associations evoking by that.

    Well, Sergey is bad enough (for obvious reasons), but Сергей Фокин is even worse. All I can say is poor berk.
