    My name in Russian

Okay, i am named after a flower (Heather) would it sound very odd if translated the name of hte flower into Russian and used that as my first name like so -> вереска. At hte moment i use Хеда because i don't like Хета or Хезр.

Maybe you could use Хита? Or, less close to original sounding, Гита. It's kinda real Indian name, I guess, but better than Хита or Хида. And how about just Роза? I don't know if you are guy or girl but it is more like feminine names, by the way.

First of all вереск is of masculine gender in Russian. Secondly, it is a strange name for a human. But I found another kind of heather which is called "erica", You may call yourself Эрика.

Erica, I was just curious to find how Heather is translated into Russian in the internet. Хизер is all around. If you wanna check type Хизер in rambler.ru search

But if it is pronounced "he the er", then it should be Хезер or rather Хедер.

Хезер and Хизер are both equally frequent in the Internet, Propp.
