"Brandon" seems to be name of celtic origin. If you can tell its original meaning, I'll try to suppose some russian equivalent.

    But don't listen to V.

"Strong defender"? Ok, you may try something archaic in style, like Ratobor, Ratislav or Svyatopolk, although neither translates this accurately.

"Strong defender" approximately correspond with "Broneslav - Бронеслав"
Example: Broneslav Brondukov (Бронеслав Брондуков) - famous russian film actor

Great! "Broneslav" seems to be best choice. And it even sounds similar to "Brandon".

no.. actually its uniquely Celtic... the only reason why there are equivalents between Russian and English names are because of the Saints and christian names. As there is Ivan in russian... there is John in english...

I hate the name Brandon, personally. Maybe it's because I've known too many irritating Brandons. At any rate, thanks for the vintage thread flashback.
