Re: taxi domodedovo polyanka
Taxi drivers in Moscow airports are d@mn robbers. They can demand 200$ for 20 minutes trip. I recommend a local train.

According to the site of Domodedovo you can:

Re: taxi domodedovo polyanka
1. According to the link posted in the previous message the price is within 1500 roubles. I did use taxi from Domodedovo in the previous summer. Just order at an official booth and you'll be ok.
2. There's a train option. It cost 250 roubles in June, but one needs to change for the metro afterwards. I'd advise this to people with small luggage and if they can read signs in Russian.
Re: taxi domodedovo polyanka
It WILL cost you indeed.
I'd used train instead.

Re: taxi domodedovo polyanka

Aeroexpress trains:

I think it is dangerous for foreigner to use a taxi: the driver may reguire the enormous amount of money. Please use the official booth in the airport building as mentioned before.

I don't recommend to grab a casual car. If taxi at official desk will be unavailable try to call taxi companies you have found in Internet or companies from this list:

Domodedovo is not far from Moscow. I don't think you will have to wait for a long time.

Actually, it's the farthest Moscow airport. :) 26 km from Moscow Ring Road.
Re: taxi domodedovo polyanka
Remembered when I was coming back home from the army back in the Soviet times a taxi driver seeing a stranger and an easy kill in me offered a ride from one train station to another not far off for just “measly” ten rubles and it took me five minutes and five kopeks, what was that, two hundred times less, to get there by metro having counter-offered him to go eat some flowers.
I wonder why shouldn’t peternorhtampton take a so called auto-line bus which cost 70 rubles last year, don’t know about now but if higher not too much anyway, that’s from Domodedovo to Domodedovskaya metro station. Once on metro you can go anywhere you want no fuss no muss.
I’m not a Muscovite though, correct me if I’m wrong. :)
Re: taxi domodedovo polyanka
If you have heavy luggage with you it's not very convenient to go by train or by bus. Even though they are cheaper taxi is much more preferable transport in this case. If, from the other hand, you can conveniently carry your luggage with you I'd chosen train express.
Re: taxi domodedovo polyanka
Put on a yellow jacket and try hitchhiking. :D
(I'm serious)
Re: taxi domodedovo polyanka
thanks everyone. but just to clarify. my flight arrives 04.35. and first train (stopping) i think is at 5 which i think i would struggle to catch - time to get through passport control etc. also i shall have heavy bag. so taxi is probably best option for me, so i shall go to the official booths inside the airport. - are they all the same price? is any one company better than the others (i think i read that there are 3 official booths inside the airport). thanks again

I have no idea about the price, frankly, but I doubt the difference, if any, would be much. The best about those official taxi companies is that passengers don't risk to be swindled, like they were in the 'crazy nineties'. So I'd avise picking the first you see.
As for the formalites and luggage pick-up - plan an hour or hour and half for this.

That depends on the definition of 'swindled'. The fares of official taxis at the airport are usually 2-3 times higher than in the city.
Re: taxi domodedovo polyanka
But the price doesn't change at the end of ride. You're right about doubling the prices, but it's about everything sold (burgers, magazines) at a Moscow airport. And not only at the Moscow's as far as I've learned, travelling abroad.
