Hi,
needing a bit of advice. What is the best way to get to Ivanovo from Moscow and how long will it take to get there? Also can you tell me of good hotels in the region. Also can you tell me in which direction from Moscow it is.
Thanks

You can catch a bus direct to Ivanovo (stops briefly in Vladimir) from Shelkovo (шёлково) bus station, which is right by Shelkovskaya (шёлковская) metro on the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya line (I think it's the dark blue line, if Moscow metro lines are always drawn with the same colours. Anyone know if that's the case?). It takes between 4 1/2 and 6 hours, depending.
You can also catch a train from Yaroslavskaya, though I was advised against it. Apparently they only run once or twice a day and they're always jam-packed. However, never having tried, I don't know how accurate that information is.
No idea about hotels, sorry. Google znaet vse though.
Ivanovo is 250km-ish north-east of Moscow.
Always the same -- in all official charts, at least. Many people even refer to different lines by their colors: "Он живёт на зелёной линии", "Туда нужно ехать по оранжевой ветке" etc.Originally Posted by scotcher
