Perhaps you wanted to type "мне".
я = I
мне = (to) me
я - Nominative case
мне - Dative case
what are those two cases?

There are plenty of exceptions, but in general, the nominative is used when something is the subject of a sentence, and the dative is used when something is the indirect object of a sentence.
He gives a book to me.
He - subject
book - direct object
me - indirect object
So the difference between "я" and "мне" is like the difference between "I" and "me" in English. I do something, but you give me a book. As for accusative, that's when something is the direct object - in English we use "me" regardless of it's the direct or indirect object of the sentence, but in Russian, different words are used.
I would strongly suggest that you get English for Students of Russian Grammar. This is excellent, and my Russian teacher at the church insists that we all get it. Since you're in high school and your English teacher likely isn't emphasizing grammar at this stage, you'll find this very helpful in improving your knowledge of English grammar as well.Quote:

actually, where i live in north carolina im in middle school and i did get a book but its from the teach yourself series, and thanks for the help
