stressing "o"s
hi, i'm a newbie in the forum and in the Russian. My question is:
I'm Turkish, and in my language, i say "o" letter as usual ( like "orange" or "hole"). But i realized that in Russian, you pronounce the letter "o" as "a" (пока) , and sometimes you pronounce like "o" (добро)
i heard that its about stressing, but how can i know when i will stress which letter? like i said before, i always say it like "office" as though it is in french.
i'll be glad if you can help me

You just have to learn where the accent falls in a word when you learn it.

A book that I have tells me that if you don't know the stressed syllable in a word that has an 'o' in it, just pronounce it as it would be without stress, and you won't be misunderstood.
I don't know how true that is, but...yeah...

thanx, as i learned, sometimes it's important because the meaning might be changed. i think i should know where the accent falls as you said before.
thank you so much for your help
