s azov "russian from scratch "

    hello
I am currently taking russian lessons and the lessons are loosely based on s azov russian from scratch textbook. im thinking of stopping the class as im not too happy with the teaching. The textbook can easily be found online but the listening passages dont seem to be online. Does anyone know any websites that have the audio files which are mentioned in this textbook . This would greatly help with my learning as i would be able to hear how the words are pronounced. Can anyone help with audio files for this textbook ?

I purchased the audio files from the university that created the program. I don't think they sell too many copies... it took about two months and repeated emails to different people to get the order completed (everyone was very nice, but couldn't actually process the order...). The sound files are decent quality and I find them quite useful. However, there is nothing that really links a section of the text with the correct audio file. The audio files come on two CDs. Their website says you can chose to get the files as MP3s, but I was told that wasn't actually an option. Overall, I find s azov handy as supplementary material, but I wouldn't want to rely upon it as my primary learning source.

actually strato this is the exact problem i had, i have emailed asking for the listening cd or mp3 files but basically got no reply despite the fact that i was willing to pay for them I find this to be very disappointing and surprising as its a good course book and a lot of effort seems to have been put into it however if you are trying to learn russian by yourself the reluctance of the authors to send out the cd will make it very difficult for you. The only solution is to have a teacher or find someone who can speak russian fluently. I hope the authors are reading the message and will do something about this issue as it really is quite poor

    Tom

It has just come to my attention that the tracks on some of the recordings of S azov sent out in recent months are not in the correct order. I have contacted as many purchasers of the CDs as possible to offer to send them reformatted copies of the recordings. If you think that you may have a faulty copy of the recordings, please send my colleague Chris Greensill (C.Greensill@wlv.ac.uk) a reminder of your contact address, and he will supply you with replacement copies of the recordings on disc. Please specify whether you would prefer the recordings in CD format or MP3 format - both formats are available.

I apologise sincerely for any inconvenience caused.

    Regards,

    Tom (Co-author of S azov)
