    Try learning some grammar.

Seriously though, I didn't mean to be blunt - but grammar is what puts a language together. Without grammar you just have a bunch of words next to each other.

He wasn't trying to be rude, he was just being frank about the answer. Doesn't dance around the truth, does he?

If you need help, you are going to need a question first, as help with putting words together is too vague a question. Is it that you don't know how to say the things correctly (grammatically), or that you are thinking faster than you can translate, and then speak what you want to speak?

well, the first major and, probly most important rule of learning any language is never ever ever ask "why?". Asking "why do they do this" won't get you anywhere. You just have to understand that every language was built difrent, from the ground up. What exactly about grammar don't you understand ?

Btw, pravit wasn't being rude. But he just said all he needed to say. learn some grammar !

or that you are thinking faster than you can translate, and then speak what you want to speak?
Our (ideal) goal is to be able to speak without "translating" ourselves, in other words to have a thought that isn't in words, and put it straight into Russian. If you have a thought, then put it into English, then say it in Russian, of course it will be difficult.

I'm sure plenty of people would be willing to help if you'd ask a more specific question. Try to solve your problem one point at a time - find something specific you have a problem with, fix that, and move on.

I understand that that is no way to become fluent in a language, but that's pretty much where you have to start. Eventually, try thinking in Russian, then you will be golden.

Once you start dreaming in a language, you'll know you're there.

I dream in all sorts of languages, but that doesn't mean I know what they are saying.

Just last night I had a dream about the opening scene of Бригада, which I watched yesterday, that part where the watches start going backwards in the car, and everyone jumps out. I didn't make it, because I didn't know what that guy was yelling.

    Bad times...

Sometimes I just dream gibberish in English as well. Last night I dreamt about a 'sojourner' helping me with legal business or something. It all seemed very authentic, but it didn't make any sense anymore when I woke up.

Who actually dreams in words? When I dream, I usually see all sorts of weird things but I don't talk or hear spoken words very much(people communicate almost telepathically sometimes). I don't see how you can really dream in a specific language so I never get it when people ask me "Do you dream in Russian?" Ever since I was beginner, there have been occasional dreams where I see some Russian text written on walls or I'm reading some Russian book, but it's usually gibberish. Although I once had a fairly interesting dream that I was reading a book/watching a movie about a modern-day Crime and Punishment. I think one dream I had I was supposed to meet some lady whose name was some nonexistent Russian verb(I forget it now, but it was something ending in -ать). Then there have been some where I speak Russian to people who I think are Russians...

i dream words, time from time. But, dreaming in russian is nothing to be too proud of. I had my first dream in russian, when i was about 5 months into it. And let me tell you, i sucked back then. And now, a year and 2 months into it. I still suck. I had my last dream in russian about a week ago. Some hott girl was at my house, but like, her parents somehow spoke english, and she doesn't and i had to translate . Anyways, they wanted me to tell her it was time to go . i have probly had about 10 dreams in russian total

True. In dreams you often have some "extra" knowledge, that you wouldn't have if that was happening in your real life. The other interesting thing about dreams (at least in my dreams) is that sometimes people you know have totally different appearance and you still know who they are.

    Yes, dreams are often strange.
Once I had a dream that I was in Paris in the middle of the night and was buying some ice-cream ( ) and I was doubtful about the gender of "ice-cream" in French (I was leaning towards the feminine). And I said something like that (in French): I'd like to have ... I wanted to say "ice-cream" but I hesitated about the article and it was a pause and the saleswoman asked:"ice-cream?" and I said yes. Of course when I woke up I wanted to know if my guess (of course it wasn't a guess in its pure form) about gender was right and I found that it was.

Sometimes I have dreams that I'm a hero in computer games. Sometimes these games are based on actual games I played, but still very different from the original, sometimes they are games I can't associate with any game I know, sometimes these games are somehow mixed with the real world. It's often scaring but at the same time very attracting. Wish I could record them.

    Too serious

Fuck you guys go on with some shit.
Someone asks a question and you end up talking about what you dream about. Settle the fuck down and stop taking yourselves so seriously.
If someone asks a question try to be a little more understanding...

    Just a quick word

Maybe some of you guys should use my name instead of your own.
Or maybe try these: eroonda; kazyol; or you could all become one group called Hryenovi.

    It's just a thought

What on earth (hate...filter...must...be...clean...) are you talking about, Doorak?

First: this wasn't your post, so don't worry about it.

Second: We were waiting for Kiky to respond with a clearer explanation of what the question was; it's kind of pointless to go on about something we "think" they are asking, only to find out it was something else.

I'm sure that if Kiky returns to post again on this thread, there will be someone who will happily help her. No one gets ignored.

Hey, calm down there, bud-bud. That's a lot of random hate you have for some people you don't even know. Most of the people who post here never come back anyway. I think we've all written comprehensive page-long posts for people who post once and run away.

Apparently you know so much you can just jump in and tell everyone what they should be doing, so why don't you do some helping yourself, "Doorak", besides spouting off swear words. I'm sure Kekey or whoever would appreciate it.

Hey, who's for banning Doorak for a little while? Swearing in any language and getting stuff past the filter is against the TOS. "It's just a thought."

well if you ask me дурак fits that guy just fine. Obviously he made a real козёл out of himself, and whatever other words he tried to spell in russian. I love how the real idiots always learn the bad words in a lgnauge first before anything else. The dude obviously has no idea what this forum is like anyway, and like pravit said, kiki never even posted a response... so really, what's the bother ? heres somore words that describe you that may fit your vocabulary durak (it's really durak, doorak just looks silly)... Нацист, урод... гад. stick those in your online translater, you бомжиха.
