Keyboard question...

Feel quite free to laugh if you must..I know I would.

But, I'm new to Russian and it's all going quite well but now I need to be able to type Cyrillic on my computer. I know I can download what I need but I'm a bit worried that once it's "on" I'll never be able to find my way back to typing English due to my not understanding entirely any instructions! (An unfortunate incident whilst experimenting with my mobile phone has taught me not only this harsh lesson, but caused me to lose several days out of my life and made me very late for dinner!)

Any advice would be appreciated. Ideally I'd love to be able to switch from one to the other at will. Can this be done without upending the family computer?

    Thanks in advance,

    Fi

you worry for nothing, I think, if you got Windows XP or 2000, you do not need to download anything, you may need your installation copy maybe, but that is it. Your interface will stay English, default will stay English, for Russian you will need to switch, but any new program you open on your desktop will start with English keyboard.

Just go to Start->Settings->Control Panel->Keyboard and click on add language button. Follow instructions, they are simple, even I could do that. That is it.

If you set it up like Poiner suggested, you can hit Shift + Alt and switch between however many languages you need.
