audio stuff alternating russian and english

    Hi all,
do you know any audio stuff that would alternate sentences in russian with their translation in english, as it exists for texts?
It would be so convenient to learn that way!!
    Excuse my english, I’m French.

In Russian, all nationalities and their corresponding languages start with a lower-case letter.

Ah that would be great if I had time to spend in front of my computer, but I don't, so what I am looking for is really mp3 audio.
    Please try again

Sentences, or at least words, first in English and then in Russian, are in either Vocabulearn or Learn in your car (I don't remember at the moment ).

But I wouldn't suggest that kind of method.

    Ok, I checked at home.

Learn in your car is organized into 72 "lessons", each with a topic, like "lesson 3: transportation nouns" starting with "train, a train, the train: поезд... поезд; the trains: ... (etc)". They also have grammar and sentences.

Vocabulearn (I have a very old version) is just a collection of random words on a tape, that is, not relating to a topic. For example: "the grass: трава; the moon: луна; the sound: звук; ...". Mostly words, some short sentences or expressions.

Both are published by Penton Overseas, check their newest offerings.

I also found a Dover Russian Listen & Learn. It is 90 minutes of short sentences and expressions, again in the format English first Russian second, divided into topics. For example: "(topic) Shopping. I want to go shopping: я хочу (etc.)...". Check them out at doverpublications.com.

I wouldn't learn that way though. Better (and more interesting!) to learn new words in context.[/url]

I've been using the Vocabulearn in conjunction with my BBC, Michel Thomas and Penguin courses. While I agree strongly you wont learn Russian from it, its quite useful if you already know the grammar/sentance structure and just want to learn some words.

I can say "can I have a " but until yesterday could not ask for a fork. But I've now picked up the word for fork (amongst others!) As its relatively cheap it might be worth it as a supplemental learning tool.
