Confused on ты
Hi I have a simple and silly question...
I've been using Pimsleur's Speak and Read Essential Russian and decided to throw in an online course for variety.
Well, on Pimsleur's when the say 'ты' , when saying something along the lines of 'you are young' or 'ты молодая' the pronunciation for 'ты' sounds like something along the lines of saying the letter 'V' (to my untrained ears at least).
But, on this other course online they sound like the pronouncing it by making a sound like saying the letter 'T'...
Can anyone clear this up for me?

Re: Confused on ты
Well, there are two words for "you" in Russian: "ты" и "вы". "Вы" is like "vous" in French in that it can be used to address either multiple persons, or one person in a formal, polite way. "Ты", on the other hand, is like French "tu", Spanish "tú", or German "du". So I think that the Pimsleur course uses "вы", and your online course uses "ты." Of course, two different words would sound differently :)

Re: Confused on ты
Ahhh thank you translationsnmru
I should have dug a little deeper and I might have uncovered that. But, now I know I'm not crazy and that they are in fact two different sounds/words.
