Thread: With the speed of a snail

I doubt it’s my internet connection not being the fastest there is, it is the last refurbishing of the forum’s engine that is to blame for the MasterRussian's turning into the world’s laziest forum ever.
Down with the stupid looks, give back the power.

It depends on when you access the forum. During peak time (early mornings Eastern Time) it may be slow for most users.

It’s not time of the day/night related. It’s always slow. It takes from 6 to 15 seconds to open a thread, 15 being the more usual, and it’s always “is it worth going into all that waiting trouble to see what that person has to say?”

It's the same for me, but I'm kinda used to it. It often takes at least 8 seconds for any page to open, or more.. I usually visit at night (Moscow time) with about 15-30 other people online. I don't think it's a lot.
It would be nice if you could fix it. And if not.. Well

Do you have the same problem with other forums that use the same forum's engine?

I noticed the performance worsened after switching to phpBB3 from phpBB2, then it had somewhat improved after switching to vBulletin, but still it is slower than the original phpBB2, but certainly not as dramatically as it is for alexB and gRomoZeka. Usually the performance varies from 'ok' to 'could be faster a bit'.

Ouch!!! My feelings are hurt. *sniff* *sniff* We could always go back to the pre-Internet days and send you our comments by mail. Of course it would probably be redacted to just a piece of paper with black lines once it got past all the inspectors.
