    Russian fonts in notepad

    hello friends...today only i joined this forum...i have one problem though.

    i have very strange problem...i have windows ME (english version)..while installing it i also installed multilanguage pack....i have all the russian fonts...in keyboard seettings i have added russian language...i have also installed cryllic.

    i m able to type russian characters in MS word or say in Google Search Box...but i m not able to do the same in Notepad..... before formatting my comp i was able to type russian in notepad too !!! what is it that i m missing now ,which i had then when i used to type russian in notepad too??

    the russian characters which i typed in notepad before formatting my windows are displayed as junk ..like this

    The only thing I can suggest: open Notepad, go to «Edit>>Font» and in «Symbols set» or such (in the bottom) choose «Cyrillic». If doesn't help, I don't know.

    Hello!

    Better late than never! You can always use "Wordpad". You can find it in "Start" --> "Programs" --> "Accessories".

    Use PolyEdit, very good share/freeware text editor made by Russians.

    I would not recommend WinME to my worst enemy but if you stuck using it try saving text file as Unicode instead of ANSI ...
