Yiddish and Hebrew are in different language families, is all I really know. Is it only minority groups that speak Yiddish? I know heavily the gypsy music culture. And, the Rom and Yiddish speaking Jews blend their cultures well. The reason I've not had any interest in Hebrew is because of the mainstream American Jewish attitude. I find it very condescending of gentiles, incessantly putting guilt trips on innocent white people. Calling everyone anti-semetic, without just cause. But, I'd love the idea of meeting a nice little Jewish family and speaking with them in Hebrew. Who amongst the Jewish world speak Yiddish though, I wonder. What else do you know about Yiddish and Hebrew, Zhenya or VM, or elseone?
Hewbrew is more Semitic while Yiddish is more European; but both are Jewish languages.
