Thread: logout timeout

When typing a text in the new editing window the auto-save option works perfectly but anyway the user is automatically logged-out after a short timeout. Which causes the user to log-in when pressing the submit button. Isn't it possible to keep the user logged-in while he is typing the text in the editing window?

How short is the period of time? Right now it is set to 900 seconds (15 minutes).

The problem can be caused by your browser too. Does it accept cookies for the masterrussian.net domain?

I did not pay much attention to it but probably it was close to 15 minutes. Actually I supposed that auto-saving would automatically restart this timeout, so while typing it would never occurs even if you type longer than this timeout. I supposed that timeout would take place only if you don't type within the edit box during these 15 minutes.

You should be inactive for timeout to cut you off.
But I'm not sure if auto-save resets the timeout.

I've had this happen to me plenty of times, but I'm thinking it's something my browser does.. At home (like now) I don't usually get timed out, but at work I think I get like four minutes at the most... I (usually remember to) copy the whole post to the clipboard (pc memory) before I post, because sometimes it doesn't stay.. One trick I've learned, is that if you start in "Post Quick Reply" but then instead of posting, if you think you're timed out, click "Go Advanced," USUALLY it lets you log in then takes you to a preview and saves what you've written..
