Well, I have experienced both hot dry summers in Kazakhstan (with the temperature going as high as 44°C) and hot and rather wet summers in Moscow. In my experience, 40°+ with a very low humidity is much easier to survive than 35°+ with a high humidity. But then again, when I lived in Kazakhstan, I was much, much younger...
That's right, imho - AZ is about 110-115 right now (off and on) and it might just be because I've grown up here, but it's not so bad. Rough in the sunlight, but not too bad in the shade, inside buildings, in cars, on the bus, etc... But when I was in less heat, but extreme humidity, I felt that death was imminent... =) For me, in high humidity it is hard to breathe, and to keep heart rate low.. but in low humidity, 125 f does not bother me... perhaps it is just being native to this place...
