Valda, it takes years to develop a good and confident command of the language. Don't give up. If you have time to study at least several days a week, that's already a great thing. You may be better at some areas of the language, cos it's a multilateral thing, and you may dedicate yourself to different parts of the language. And something you've learnt is already on your brain's hard disk and you'll be able to retrieve it later even if you seem to have forgotten it (it is said by scientists that adults do not forget the information so quickly and it is stored in your memory). It seems to me your language environment as regards Russian is rather fortunate, as there are always speakers of Russian around.
