Dumb question...the "e" is stressed, so it's pronouced: NYE-ba?
That's one of my major issues with Russian right now, remembering which syllable to stress (and also remembering to unstress the correct vowels). For example, I want to say "Nee-BO".

Thanks. Here's a couple tricky ones I've been struggling with. It's those that end in "-oe", or "-ие".
For example, how about "маленькое" or "маленкие"?
Are they "MAL-en-ko-eh" and "MAL-en-ki-eh"? Or do those last two letters just get squished, like the "-ый" in белый? (Pronounced "BYI-ly"?)
I might be way off on these, but thanks for your help.
маленькое sort of sounds like маленькая, because the O is unstressed.
Белый is not pronounced "BYI-ly". :o It's ~byEh-lыy.Quote:

Yes, that was a typo. Thanks, but this is harder than I originally thought.Quote:

in -ое and -ие there are two vowels and therefore they are two syllables. Since both are unstressed (in the majority of adjectives), the О is reduced to a sort A sound (more like a schwa, if you know what that is).
Lastly:
Е after vowels is pronounced "ye(h)" not -eh like you wrote.
Note that second syllable is unstressed, thus reducing e to [I].Quote:
