    probably yes. They are not the same as the similar sounds in English.

    On the plus side, this makes it a lot easier to distinguish between ш and щ now

    Щ is palatalized Ш. They are not very different.
    "Россия для русских" - это неправильно. Остальные-то чем лучше?
