Thread: Using telephone?

Please, help me to understand what is said in this phrase. The matter is about use of telephone. The girl in video says that adult people is beginning to use mobile telephones, but there is a word that I don't urderstand, and I find also a problem of grammatical government.

What I expect is: "Adult generation begins to use these telephones". What I hear is :"Взрослое поколение начинается полничать эти телефоны" Apart from not being полничать a Russian word, the following words, in nominative can't means that nor пользовать чем can be, since instrumental case was waited.

Взрослое поколение тоже начинает осваивать эт… эти телефоны, и очень часто мы можем увидеть э… достаточно пожилых людей с мобильными телефонами, которые разговаривают по ним.

Осваивать + accusative = to master smth.

начинаться что-то делать точно нельзя. Только начинать.

Возвратное окончание -ся произошло от слова "себя". Начинается - как бы "начинает себя". А сам по себе глагол "начинать" - переходной (transitive verb).
