Well it's clear that Russians aren't very keen on the EU idea and that Americans don't care for it much either. But for us in Europe it makes life easier to have a common currency and travel & work freely... And it has lead to peace for over 60 years, so I support it despite all its faults. Most of the European countries are too small to be able to look after themselves well in isolation. We need to stick together.

Anyway, the latest is that the EU is now begging China for money to help with the Greece/Euro crisis!!! That is the ultimate humiliation and defeat as far as I am concerned.

It's getting worse and worse and it is really hard for everyone in Europe to agree on anything as a union.

Interestingly Putin has apparently said that the members states of the USSR had more individual freedom to set their own policies than the EU members states has. That surprises me, but who knows - maybe it's true...
