A footnote prompted by the Wikileaks affair:

Up until recently I have always felt quite proud of my nationality (Swedish).
But right now I am just feeling pretty miserable about it.
Assange affair.... The excellent welfare state that I grew up with, is slowly being sold off or wittering away. There'll probably be nothing left by the time I need it. Sweden spying on Russia in lots of different ways and sharing the info with the USA, despite being "neutral" (several examples of this)... Pathetically failed immigration politics, Illegal Pirate Bay raid at the orders of the USA, Our traditional culture and European culture giving way for trashy junk culture on all fronts.... ETC! What an allround degeneration.

Seems the only countries where things are getting better are those Arab countries where they are having revolutions... Because in Europe things sure ain't getting better!
