Question to Russians.
A couple of days ago I was listening to V.Solov'ev and he said 'After Taffy I stopped to respect V. Pozner'. Could anyone tell me what happened at that Taffy?
I guess, it was not "Taffy", but TEFI.
ТЭФИ -- TV-competition, organised annually by Russian TV academy.
I can't remember the precised details, but I think some members of the Academy tried to use their awards ceremony to protest against government control over the media/ press by voting for shows (most political and current-events) that have recently been cancelled and taken off-air, supposedly at the behest of the Kremlin. Some of the Acadamey did so, others didn't, so presumably Messrs V.Solov'ev and V. Pozner' were in disagreement on the subject.
Or perhaps I dreamt it.
What sort of shows is scotcher talking about? It's been a long time since I watched Russian TV. Could somebody please enlighten me. Thanks.
P.S. Those of you wondering how come - I pawned me TV licence.
Yes I think so. But Mr.Solov'ev is't such an idiot. I don't believe he can stop to respect someone because of that disagreement and say it on the air. I think Mr. Pozner said something or did something at that TEFI. And my question is 'what was that 'something?'' Someone might have watched that TEFI... or have read about it...Quote:
