That's a pretty interesting convo in Russian since it's not easily translated on Google.

I just thought it was interesting the debate transformed into what appears to be ridiculing and insults. BUT, and this is a big but.... no one made any suggestion that you have these corporate magazines writing up stories. Well, there did seem to be some discussion on the integrity or reputation of these magazines.

So, the question remains, what is Putin's significance or role in the World or Russia at large? I contend that he is basically giving the middle finger to Russia. I hope that most Russians realize he's a traitor but I have been informed that many think he's a patriot or that there are genuine supporters. People actually think he's influencing the country in a good way. So, I would not differentiate these leaders on how much power they have. Special interest groups and organizations have most of the power. This holds true in most countries, in fact.

Well, I think Pootin has a good foothold in Russia in regards to power leaders have. But, it is the Elites in certain organizations and positions who pull strings. Maybe, I'll get heckled for suggesting such things. But, prove me wrong. It can't be done.

Anyway, Putin's strict laws and willingness to uphold these infringements on freedoms of expression regarding Youtube and many more examples seem to indicate he has no values nor does he give a crap about being independent. He might have a lot of power by not resisting the status quo so if he's rated "5th" by some corporate magazine, who cares?
