    съезжать и съездить

    What is the difference between съезжать and съездить ?
    Can someone explain and give me a few examples ?

    Съезжать is imperfective, means ехать вниз (~go down) or slide/slither down/awry.

    Ребёнок съезжает с горки на санках.
    Эта юбка всё время съезжает (набок).

    Съезжать can also mean "remove from an apartment (to another)":

    Я завтра съезжаю с этой квартиры.

    Съездить is perfective (one-time action) of the verb ездить (to go; to make a trip; to visit).

    Ему надо съездить в Москву по делам.
    Мне надо съездить к маме.

    Съездить is also a slang word for strike: съездить по физиономии

    Съездить is perfective

    Johnroman. do you have a grammar book or what? I wonder how you are studying Russian and still asking all these questions, the answers to which should be found in your textbooks!
