Which one of the following sentences is correct ?

Should the gender of свой agree with that of Она or портрет ?

Она показывает свой портрет.

Она показывает своя портрет.

It goes with the OBJECT of the sentence

Она показывает свой портрет.

Yeah..it always agrees with the object, like anything else. Adjectives, possesive pronouns, some numerals, etc

For example:

kalinka_vinnie любит свои запрещённые наркотики.

"Наркотики"are always illegal (except for authorized medical use, but I believe, Kalinka is not a nurse ). We have two words in Russian, basically: "наркотики" - as "narcotic drugs" or "illegal drugs" and "лекарства" - for any kind of legal drugs (including narcotic drugs if they are used properly, by a medical staff).

In the sentance "Она показывает свой портрет.", wouldn't it be "Она показывает своя портрет."?

no way

свой is always linked to the subject.

I am male, but I would say "моя рука" or "своя рука".

Female would say "мой нос".

No. The word "свой" describes the portrait , not her; and портрет is musculine. Thus it should be "Она показывает свой портрет."
