Hey - I just learned that "человек с приветом" means a slightly crazy person. On the privet.com forum, some people have "уже с приветом" written under their nicknames as a rating. Am I nuts or are these phrases related?

Without knowing the context of that forum it is hard to say, but probably that's what they meant... :)Quote:

Yeah, I think they are playing a pun on their own name:
Already with privet (.com) == Already crazy
Probably not much, but it is used. It is one of the most polite forms (but still very very informal) to suggest to a person that he is a little crazy. Usually it is used in a question:Quote:

Russian speakers don't like repeating things so they invent new ones all the time. There are lots of similar expressions, e.g.:
У тебя все дома?
У него не все дома.
Ты что с дуба рухнул?
У тебя что крыша отъехала?
Крыша не "отъехала", а "поехала".
Он немного мешком из-за угла стукнутый, тронутый, двинутый.
Правильно подумал.Quote:

Well, "он/она (немного) с приветом" is often used talking about weird person. :)
I'm "уже с приветом" but I'm not "slightly crazy person". Well, I mean not "slightly"  :lol:Quote:

Первый раз слышу про кактус. :)
