    1. What does сформировался mean here? From the dictionary I don't see much difference from вырос.
    2. которые подскажут, насколько глубоко россияне входят в православие.
What does подскажут and входят в православие mean here?

    Спасибо заранее.

Входят - don't understand it in this context, probably "are involved" suits here
    Сформировался - has been shaped
подскажут - will give a hint, will let know

    входят в православие -
grammatically correct, but lexically awkward usage, however it makes sense - basically it means "to be involved, to be inside, to enter, to understand the concepts and principles". See last sentence of paragraph 2 (Однако зададим вопрос... ) - входят implies what they say in this sentence.

also, as the name implies 'old, female', roughly a modern equivalent of a 'witch', usually, but not necessarily hired to cure but for some magic acts...

I haven't focused too much about this word (I may have 30 words to check in a page), but is it something with a place in Russian culture?
I haven't heard of it in modern times, except those in African and Amazon tribes.

The same about сглаз "evil eye", first time to hear.

It can be only in far villages, located far from the cities, or in Siberia and far from the center of Russia. Young people of Central Russia are more like Europeans.

Modern 'witches' are called 'extrasenses' or 'mediums' and so on. 'Бабка' is "old-fashioned" term, but modern 'telepaths' can 'improve' credibility by claming that they are 'ведуньи в третьем поколении" and so on.
Also there is proverb 'к бабке не ходи' literally 'you do not need to go to the witch' meaning you do not need the help of foreteller to see the future.

    r.
it's not part of culture, but some people still believe it, so some make money out of it claiming that they have some extra powers.
