Thread: нераспутанная

Hi.. I'm practicing translating Russian by learning the lyrics to Russian pop songs.. (A little like learning the alphabet from eating Marshmallow AlphaBits - education wrapped in sugar-coated entertainment) .. and I ran across a word I can't really identify: "нераспутанная". I know that "распутанная" essentially means "unravel" so is it possible that this word means "ravel"? Like "to tether" or something? I'm sure the context would make it clear for native speakers.. so here it is:

Ты - нераспутанная нить вокруг тепла..

It's from Нюша and I'm fairly sure it qualifies as Cheesy Pop..

It is something like "non-disentangled" from the verb "распутать" = "to disentangle".

You should understand that contemporary Russian song lyrics (cheesy as well as top-quality) often don't follow language logic, syntax and grammar and even regular common sense. It is often like stream of consciousness.

I think that's absolutely wonderful about the Russian language.. I'm very drawn to the way it accentuates imagery and metaphor.. <--dork
