Thread: Наклоняться и т.д.

I'm having difficulty tryind to render this in Russian: "The bottom of the tank slopes towards the corner." Using either "наклоняться" or "склоняться" as in "Дно бака наклоняется к углу" doesn't sound right to me, but I'm not sure. Perhaps "Дно бака наклонено к углу"? Gerty - do you have any thoughts from up in Montreal?

I suspect that "corner" here is not "угол" but some more specific technical term. Like "ребро", "угловой шов" or something of the kind.

I'd say, "Дно бака наклонено по отношению к..." (whatever corner is).

The important question though is rendering "slopes"... in RU.

Maybe "наклонено к краю"? Though the best thing would be if we had an illustration.

Instead of being level, the bottom of the reservoir slopes toward a drain valve. If the bottom of the reservoir were level, the fluid would not drain out completely when you open the drain valve. So, the bottom of the reservoir is tilted, or sloped, toward the drain valve.
