Since onions are uncountable,
Оnions can be countable. One onion - луковица. Two/ three/ four onions - Две/ три/ четыре луковицы. Five onions - пять луковиц.
Лук can be uncountable also. _ Мы сажаем лук. Я нарезаю лук на салат. (A number of onions is not important)
