Yes, there is the same difference between the verbs "ездить" and "ехать" like between "летать" and "лететь".

Хорошо ездить на Кипр каждый год. (generally, no one is traveling there right now, but it's good to travel there every year)
Я езжу на Кипр каждый год. (generally, I'm not doing that right now, but I do it every year; "езжу" is a form of the verb "ездить")

Хорошо ехать к морю и думать об отдыхе. (Someone is traveling to the sea right now and talking about the trip in general)
Я еду на Кипр! (I'm traveling to Cyprus right now or in the nearest future, that's a specific trip; "еду" is a form of the verb "ехать")
Я еду на Кипр в мае. (I'm going to Cyprus in May)

The same with the verbs летать/лететь:

Хорошо летать на Кипр каждый год.
Я летаю на Кипр каждый год.

Хорошо лететь к морю и думать об отдыхе.
Я лечу на Кипр!
