домашнее животное -- genitive plural
Hello!
I have three questions.
1. What is домашнее животное in the genitive plural?
2. "I went to the village to visit Sergey and his dog." What construction do you use to express the "to visit" part? ?
3. Also, how would you express "we stopped by his place on the way home" ?
Thanks!

3. Also, how would you express "we stopped by his place on the way home" ?
Normally I would say Мы зашли к нему домой, but since the end of the sentence would be по дороге домой, I dropped the first домой. In some cases it might lead to ambiguity...
Or
