    The right way to say is: "Я хочу подарить тебе ... (название подарка)". For example: "Я хочу подарить тебе эти розы". We usually don't say "подарить подарок" because it's a kind of tautology. You can use the word "подарок" with the verb "вручать". For example: "Позвольте вручить вам мой скромный подарок".
    What about perfective/imperfective aspect (not case!) it depends on the context and situation.

    Too bookish, IMO.
    Подарить подарок is OK. No more a tautology than "писать письмо".
