That's a good example. Antonio can learn a stylish word, it's "бУдучи" (= being).
The variant with the word: Может ли мусульманин выпить водки, не будучи немедленно убитым молнией?
I think you already guessed that it works like in the examples above, because "будучи" is an adverbial participle (the present tense) of the verb "быть".
Actually, you almost don't need it in spoken Russian, that's a bit bookish word (although you can meet it in a newspaper). So it's optional, just for your information.
