VOCAB QUESTION-BOX

Could someone help me:

I'm trying to use an English trick to help me learn Russian prepositions. I know, it's probably wrong, but so anyways:

What is the word for box: Is it коробка?

Is "in the box" correctly:
1) в коробка
2) сокр в коробка

Or rather: what is correctly: It is in the box.

I believe that "It is in the box" would be "Он в коробке"

Correct and depending on the context it can be она, оно or это instead of он.
