Thanks a bunch I especially liked "Не все ли равно? "

What would be the direct translation of it? Is it really used for who cares?

Yay more ways to extress my disinterest

"Не все ли равно?" - Isn't all the same? (Literally)

    Мне все равно. - I don't care.
    Все равно. - No matter.
"Россия для русских" - это неправильно. Остальные-то чем лучше?

Это ты уже причесываешь фразу. "Равно" is not "то же самое". Valda asked about direct translation.

Слово "равно", равно как и многие другие слова, имеет несколько разных значений.

I like трын-трава because it forms catchy phrases in several hilarious songs, the most popular of which is Nikulin’s Песня про зайцев

If I'm not mistaken, трын is a corrupted form of тын, an old word for "a fence" (for which забор is now the usual term).

So тын-трава was "grass that grows by the fence" -- in other words, useless weeds -- and трын-трава was a nonsensical variant.

(But later the meaningless трын-трава was explained as being a "magical fairytale plant." Cf. "schnozzberries" in Willy Wonka's chocolate factory, or Dr. Seuss's "truffula trees".)
